Tai Chi Beginners Courses

Our courses are designed to teach you the basics of Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong so you can have a solid foundation of this traditional Chinese Martial art.

All our Tai Chi courses are held in Reading, they are 8 weeks long and the price is £80.

Tai Chi & Qi Gong intermediate classes

TUESDAYS 7:30 – 9pm

Regular weekly Tai Chi classes in Reading that focus on finding balance between two great forces of positive and negative.

The classes are a combination of Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) and Qi Gong. Tai Chi Chuan is a soft and slow martial art featuring circular and flowing movements. Eight Pieces of Brocade is one of the most practised Qi Gong forms in China.

Please note: This is not a beginners class. To join this class you need to be comfortable with the 10 and 24 Yang forms.

Private lessons

Private lessons are available for those who prefer one-to-one guidance. The sessions can be arranged to your specific needs, allowing for personalised instruction. You will develop a practise that aligns with your goals while progressing at your own pace.

We teach both, internal and external styles of Chinese Martials Arts. Internal styles are soft and utilise your internal energy (Qi) while external styles are hard and depend maily on muscle power or strengh.

I look forward to my class on a Sunday with sifu Jerry. Classes are not over crowded like some martial arts classes allowing full attention from Jerry. Every thing we learn or have any questions, it is explained in layman's terms. Sifu Jerry is very knowledgable,experienced and i am looking forward to learning a lot more from him in my journey. Paul

Jerry is an excellent Tai chi master and teacher. His Tah Chi movements are authentic, flowing, and professional. He is able to split a complex Tai Chi form into digestible steps. His teaching is clear, patient, and instructive. I thoroughly enjoyed his classes and highly recommend him for anyone who is interested in Tai Chi.

I joined Jerry’s Tai Chi class last October and it has became an important part of my week and something I really look forward to. Jerry is a great teacher - welcoming, patient and encouraging! Tai Chi has many benefits and I am in no doubt that it has contributed to improving my balance, muscle strength and flexibility as well as focussing attention. Like everything, you do need to practice and the more you do, the greater the gains. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn about Tai Chi and/or is looking for a great way to improve their health, fitness and wellbeing.

If you're going to learn Tai Chi and Qigong, you'll want to learn from someone experienced, knowledgeable and also a good teacher. Jerry ticks all those boxes! He teaches you what to do, how to do it, and also why. His extensive experience of Tai Chi, Qigong and Martial Arts enables him to demonstrate, in great detail, the method, benefit and purpose of each step. If you have ever been thinking of taking a form of exercise to balance and strengthen both mind and body, then this is for you.

I am really enjoying both the 10 step Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Jerry is great teacher. His approach allows his small class to gain confidence quickly. He starts simply and then patiently helps us to improve our form so that it starts to become instinctive. I am 7 lessons in and have already signed up for the follow up course and look forward to the experience ahead.

Jerry is a very knowledgeable and thorough instructor. He breaks down the movements so it’s easy to follow along. The classes are a combination of Qi Gong and Tai Chi forms. Friendly bunch of people and relaxed atmosphere. 100% recommended!!

I am absolutely loving the 10 step beginners Chi Gong and Tai Chi course. I look forward to it every week. The 8 week course is well paced and Jerry is a great teacher, he breaks each move down very well. I had tried to learn from a DVD before but a beginners class is definitely the way to go. Small class sizes of 6-9 people in a well sized room. A real mix of ages and abilities. I would definitely recommend this course
